Deep Sleep: A Delicious Part of Life on Earth!

Feeling replenished and rejuvenated after a night of deep sleep is one of the most exquisite, and delicious states!

When I wake rested and refreshed after 8 hours of good quality sleep, I feel more happy and content, my thinking is more clear, and, my body is more energized. I’m usually much kinder to my loved ones when I’m well slept. (They appreciate that.)

Studies link link lack of of sleep as a factor in many “car accidents, nuclear reactor meltdowns, the grounding of large ships, and involved in aviation accidents.”

Sleep is one of the most effective ways to metabolize stress hormones, which are the real culprits when it comes to the chronic inflamation that wrecks havoc on our bodies over time. (Exacerbated inflammation in the body has been linked to increased risk for Alzheimer’s diabetes, arthritis, heart attack and stroke.)

Sleep helps your body repair itself. It not only feels good—it’s good for you.

Many of us sleep less than six hours a night, and 75% of us have sleep difficulties at least a few nights a week, says the Harvard Women’s Health Watch. While short term insomnia is generally nothing to worry about, over the long haul sleep loss may lead to health problems: weight gain, a decrease in the immune systems power, and high blood pressure.

It’s safe to say that sleep is too important to shortchange!
